The S-Works Turbo RapidAir 2BR is the ultimate race tire. It's the most efficient, lightest, best-handling, and strongest tubeless tire we've ever made. The original RapidAir tires broke the tradition of using tubulars in major races. The RapidAir's unique construction—a two-ply construction that overlaps on the shoulder instead of the traditional three-ply construction that bunches material under the tread—was a very fast foundation to build on. We were able to improve on this excellent performance by incorporating the new Gripton T2 compound, our fastest compound, in the center tread, combined with the T5 compound on the shoulders. This dual compound provides a two-watt advantage for a pair of 26mm S-Works tires over the previous version, and also adds 1,000km of mileage. Oh, and did we mention it's lighter, too? Just 230 grams for the 26mm section.
Since we're talking about tubeless tires, if used with RapidAir sealant, you can leave the spare tube at home. What's more, with the new Kevlar-BlackBelt hybrid puncture protection, this tire is 12% more resistant to punctures, while also being lighter and more flexible.
The new S-Works Turbo RapidAir is compatible with hookless or traditional rims, so you can run the wheels you want, and the pressure you prefer. The bead is reinforced with Zylon and exceeds hookless pressure standards by 200%.
